Recently, I think I’ve come to the decision to be a full-time homemaker. Potentially permanently. Without any side-hustles. No photography business. Nothing. Just being at home, making house. I mean, at least until all the kids are in school. Even then, I don’t think I will work full time. Just enough to do something during the day, but to be home for mornings and dinner preparation. My attempt t growing seedlings from scratch may have failed, but I didn’t spend too much time being sad over it. I went to Walmart and bought some herbs for 3$ each. While I was there, I also bought 5 adorable glass planters. Over all, I am just so happy with them. Basil, rosemary, thyme, parsley and sage. They look so pretty sitting on my windowsill. Even though we live in a basement condo, we have such a wonderful big window by our kitchen. This corner makes me so happy 🙂 Continue reading
Just as Saturday was in it’s early stages (read: early. Joe woke up just before the clock struck 7…hehe), I came across the unfortunate news that taxes were due on the upcoming Tuesday! Considering that both Josh and I had to file 3 year’s worth…this was NOT good news for our family fun-time weekend (that the term Josh started calling our weekends once his thesis finished in March. No longer did we have to say “no” to doing things so he could work on it).
BUT the day turned out better than expected 🙂 We decided to take a tax break (haha!) after Joseph’s 2nd nap and went swimming! We also decided to stop at Dulux Paint on the way home to look at paint samples for our living room. I’m sure glad we did because they were having a BOGO sale, and Saturday was the last day. We bought 4 gallons! We still don’t have a colour picked out. This is what our living room and dining area look like now: It’s kind of hard to tell from the pictures, but it’s more yellow than it looks. I originally picked this colour about 6 years ago when I lived in this condo during university. I had no idea it would go on so dark and yellow. My dad simply kept the same paint throughout the condo all these years, but I really don’t like it! I find it makes the space feel dark. We are hoping to lighten it up, and replace the old baseboards at the same time.
My problem is that I don’t know what colour to pick! Our existing furniture has a lot of yellow undertones…so maybe a complimentary colour ? Like a light grey with a blue tone? I’m so hopeless with this stuff; I can never make a decision!
Here are just a few ideas that I liked! I love the open, light and airy feel the light walls give. I am also completely open to seat covers. I’m thinking they might be a good investment anyways with a little boy 🙂
