The Best Of: June

May-4

June was a lot of fun for us. Joseph and I continued our trend of doing a lot of baking to fit more recipes into our family cookbook. Although, I’m finding it harder to spend so much time on my feet! I am just about to enter my 3rd trimester (28 weeks along already!), and I am starting to feel that familiar “full” feeling.  But, baking is just so fun to do with Joseph. He is always excited to help me in the kitchen! The bane of my existence right now is trying to find the perfect chocolate chip muffin recipe. I just want my chocolate chip muffin to be light and fluffy like they are at Tim Hortons. Is that too much to ask?! I also tried to make an ice cream cake for Canada Day that was a total flop, so I am adding that to my list of recipes I need to rectify. LOL. Continue reading

The Best of: May 2016

May -63

We started announcing to everyone about the new baby!

Can you believe it’s June tomorrow?! I think I say the same thing at the end of every month: how did this month go by so quickly?!

How can I sum up May? Well, I think one word I would use is: baking. I did a lot of baking this month. This is a good thing, because baking means I am in a good mood and my life is going well enough that I can find the mental energy to follow a recipe. Josh always knows when I’m feeling great because there are always muffins in the house. Also, we decided that we wanted to make a family cookbook…so added motivation to find those perfect recipes!

The Best Of: April 2016

April -26

I never want to forget how angelic he is when he sleeps.

If I could sum up April with one word it would be: sick. I kid you not! I have been sick this whole month. It was long and it was tough, but it looks like I am almost on the side of healthy, Continue reading

When I went to Rise Up in Montreal, I stopped in the most delightful cafe for lunch. My meal was too pretty not to take a picture of.

It’s been a year since I started this blog! Originally I started it to keep up with my New Years resolutions for 2015, but as those faded away, the purpose for this blog did too. Also things got very busy with Continue reading

Project 52: Simplicity

Week14-1I didn’t think too hard about this one. I just decided that I want to capture my surroundings, as I often find them beautiful in their everydayness.

I was sitting, drinking coffee, and reading a book in my living room in mid-afternoon. I just love the light at that time of day; it casts a kind of dreamy glow on everything. My Mother’s Day flowers were sitting on the sill drinking in the sun, and I was so struck by their beauty.

Project 52: Landscape

Peggy's Cove Nova Scotia

Landscape is the subject for my 13th challenge of my Project 52 (yes yes, I am SUPER behind..but I will not let that stop me!).

I love this category…it’s so broad. It means that I can revisit it throughout the year as opportunities arise.

I recently found Samantha at Elah Tree and noticed that she is doing a photography challenge for 10 weeks called the Lens Revolution. This week I am deciding to link up with her here!

Her most recent challenge is shooting landscape, which was totally perfect because Josh and I just did a trip out to Peggy’s Cove.

I just love living in Nova Scotia. I never have to travel very far to get a beautiful scene. Enjoy!
